"Success Today, Prepared for Tomorrow"

Principal's Message

April 2, 2019 Message from the Principal

April 2, 2019

I hope everyone has enjoyed a great springbreak. We are back in the swing of things as we prepare for the beginning of state assessments and begin to transition to planning for the 2019-2020 school year.

As we continue to deepen our understanding of the 7 Habits and implement The Leader in Me, our kids continue to impress me with their ideas and actions. Recently, we selected our Student Lighthouse Team who will be charged with planning and implementing student leadership and teaching the 7 Habits next school year. We are excited to see what they and all of our students achieve in the coming months.

In addition, we have been working in various action teams across the building and one of our action teams is the "Family Learning Team". In the coming months, we will begin holding informational and training sessions around the community that will help families learn more about the 7 Habits. Look for more details to come.

With the 19-20 school year almost here, we are reaching the end of our strategic plan that has driven the work of Graham Elementary. Next year, we will begin to examine our accomplishments and revisit where what we did not accomplish and plan for our next five years. Over the summer, we will begin examining our data from many different sources on our successes of the 18-19 school year and set goals for the 19-20 school year. We would love to have parent involvement in this process.

Lastly, we have Grandparents days coming on April 16 and 17. April 16 will be for K-2 and April 17 will be for 3-5. Please RSVP as soon as possible if you have not. In addition, Donkey Basketball returns on April 23 at the high school. Tickets will be available in the office.
