The St. Paris Graham High School Athletic Department is excited to announce the appointment of Mr. Shane Cahill as the new head varsity football coach. Mr. Cahill is a graduate of West Jefferson High School in Ohio where he was a four-year member of the varsity football team. He continued his education at Urbana University and was a four-year letter winner.
Mr. Cahill has been employed by the Mechanicsburg Exempted school district for the past three years as an Intervention Specialist, and comes to Graham with experience as a defensive coordinator coach, a role that has prepared him for his new duties as head football coach at Graham.
“Mr. Cahill has been a winner at all levels. He’s also been praised for his teaching ability. That’s the type of pedigree we look for in a teacher and coach,” according to Athletic Director Jay Lewis. At West Jefferson he was a part of three regional finalist teams that had the most wins in school history over a three year period, going 40-9 and earning 34 wins in three years. At Urbana University, Coach Cahill had similar success with his teams having the most wins in a four year span, going 26-18. He earned All Conference academic honors three years and was named an All-Conference Linebacker.
Over the last three years, Cahill has been a part of a very successful Mechanicsburg High School squad. While at Mechanicsburg his teams have a record of 32-5 while being a three time state playoff qualifier, three time Ohio Heritage Conference Champions, and two time regional finalists.
Coach Cahill is very excited for this opportunity. “I’m incredibly excited to build a culture of accountability and leadership with the student athletes at Graham High School. I am also very thankful for the opportunity given to me by the Graham Board of Education and administration.”
