  1. PICTURE DAY is this Friday, October 3.  You will receive your picture order forms in your last period class today.  If you do not receive a form, extras are available in the Main Office.  If you are ordering pictures, you need to bring your order form with payment on picture day and give it to the photographer. ALL STUDENTS need to have your picture taken, whether you are ordering or not, so your picture will appear in the Yearbook.  SENIORS:  you need to have your picture taken so it will appear on the class composite, which is the class group picture that hangs in the hallway.  ATTENTION STUDENTS that are not here 1st thing in the morning: You will need to make arrangements to stop by the high school to have your picture taken.  The photographer will be set-up and ready by 7:00 AM.  DON’T FORGET to dress nice and appropriately for your picture.  JVS STUDENTS:  make sure you get your picture taken BEFORE you get on the bus. If you drive to JVS, make sure you stop by the High School to get your picture taken.   


  2.  The 2025 HOMECOMING DANCE will be on Saturday,  October 4 in the main gym at GHS.  The dance will be from 7:30 - 10:30.  Tickets will be sold from September 29 - October 2.  NO TICKET SALES on Friday, October 3 or at the door.  Tickets will be sold during lunch periods unless you have made arrangements with Mrs. Bechtel.  Tickets are $15.00 each and you must have your PINK DANCE FORM signed by a parent or guardian to purchase your ticket.  If you are bringing a date from another school, they are to have ALL of the information filled out on the back of the Pink Form.  You can find a copy of the PINK form in your google classroom or in the guidance office.  Any questions, see Mrs. Bechtel.

  3.  CONGRATULATIONS to the 2025 HOMECOMING COURT!  FRESHMAN ATTENDANTS: Adem Snyder & Malynn Bacher.  SOPHOMORE ATTENDANTS: Jakob Hoke & Morgan Spitler. JUNIOR ATTENDANTS: Mateo Castelucci & Ava Wilon.  SENIORS CANDIDATES, BOYS:  Zack Estep, Brody Fritts, Jake Landis, Izaiah Smith & Jack Traylor. GIRLS: Makayla Black, Sophia DiMichele, Claire Hannahs, Faith Medley & Shannon Stahler. 

  4.  This week is HOMECOMING SPIRIT WEEK.  Today is Rhyme without Reason, Tuesday is Soccer Moms vs. BBQ Dads, Wednesday is Pajama Day, Thursday is Throwback Thursday (Decades) and Friday is Dress to Impress (Picture Day) or Total Blackout. 

  5.  HOMECOMING ACTIVITIES will start this Thursday, October 2 with a Powder Puff Game.  Pre-Game Ceremony will be at 6:00 with introductions of Fall Sports Teams, Student Organizations & the Homecoming Court as they walk across the track.  Kick-off will be approximately 6:45.  Halftime performances will be performed by the GHS & Alumni Band.  Concessions will be by the FFA.  

  6.  A Representative from The US Air Force will be here during lunch periods on Wednesday, October 1. 


  7.  A representative from the Aveda Institute of Columbus will be here on Thurs, October 2.  Any junior or senior interested in speaking with this representative, should contact Mrs. Dillon.  This representative will be staying during lunch periods. 



SPORTS ANNOUNCEMENTS

  1.  Falcon Football came out on top with a hard-fought 26-21 victory! Danny Hoke led the way with 101 yards rushing and 2 touchdowns, while Gage Stull connected through the air for two more scores to Brody Jenkins.  Great job, Falcons!


  2.  On the pitch, our Boys Soccer Team blanked London with a 3-0 win! Goals were scored by Kale Gilbert, Brycen Hanes & Carson Powell.  Fantastic teamwork out there!


  3.  The Women’s Soccer Team went 1-2 last week with a big 5-0 win over London.  During the week, Lilah Turner had 4 goals and 1 assist, Sophia Mannier and Riley McAlexander both had 1 goal and 2 assists, Rachel Birchfield had 1 goal and on assist, Sarah Daulton and Amelia Bayham each had one goal, Bekah Wagner had 1 assist and Jordan johnston had a shutout.  The women’s soccer team is traveling this week with games at Kenton Ridge and Bellefontaine.
