  1.  The following college representatives will be here this week.  On Monday, October 13, Miami University.  Tuesday, Bowling Green State University & Ohio Air National Guard.  Wednesday, The National Guard.  If you are interested in speaking with one of these representatives, see Mrs. Dillon in the Guidance Office. 

  2. The National Honor Society is hosting a Blood Drive at GHS on Wednesday, October 22.  If you would like to sign up to donate, please see Mrs. Jackson in Room B152 or scan the QR Code on the flyers before or after to register.


  3.  Attention NHS Members: The next meeting will be on Wednesday, October 15 at 7:00 am in Mrs. Jackson’s room.  We will be organizing for the blood drive and for the Halloween Spooktacular that will be held on 10/26 in downtown St. Paris.


  4.  Starting today, we will be collecting plastics, papers, and cans.  Please drop off anything you have in the bins by the Media Center, the Cafeteria Bathrooms & the Cafeteria.  Over 146 million tons of waste end up in landfills each year.  We will have 3 recycling weeks throughout the year.  Please do your part!


  5.  Attention Students and Staff!  We will be selling cookies to support Cancer Awareness for the next 2 weeks.  Cookies will be $2.00 and sales will take place Monday, Wednesday & Friday in the Nest.  We encourage everyone to stop by to enjoy a sweet treat and help support a meaningful cause.

  6.  FCCLA will be sponsoring a Halloween Pumpkin Decorating Contest.  Entry will be $10 per pumpkin and are due on Thursday, October 16.  There are 4 categories: Individual, Group, Class and/or Teacher.  Pumpkins completed must be brought in by the 28th and will be judged on the 30th.  There will be prizes given to winners on the 31st.  Pumpkins may be painted, carved or decorated with any school appropriate design. 

     

  7. Attention Artists:  Use your talent to paint faces at the Halloween “Spooktakular” Event on Sunday, October 26 in Downtown St. Paris.  See Mrs. Jackson for more information and to sign up. 



SPORTS ANNOUNCEMENTS

  1.  Any girl grades 7th - 12th interested in playing basketball this year, open gyms are starting back up.  If you have never played before, that’s OK.  Just show up & have fun.  We will start each open gym with fundamental skill work and then play at the end.  THIS IS NOT MANDATORY BUT HIGHLY RECOMMENDED IF YOU CAN BE THERE.  This will be held Tuesdays from 6:30 - 8:00 pm.  Please contact Coach Liz Martin with any additional questions.


  2.  Last week, the girls soccer team took on the 2 eventual conference champions, Urbana & Shawnee, losing each game by only one goal.  During the Shawnee game, Lilah Turner scored 2 goals, both assisted by Riley McAlexander.  The women’s soccer team hosts a first round tournament game on Thursday against Indian Lake at 6:30 pm. 

  3.  Varsity Volleyball lost to Indian Lake on Thursday.  Malynn Bacher had 9 kills & 19 digs.  Lana Maurice was 13 for 15 serving with an Ace.  Ally Prince had 8 assists and 9 digs.  Shannon Stahler & Aysia Davis each added a block.  The JV Falcons have concluded their season.  The Varsity Falcons will be back in action at their first tournament game this Saturday at Brookville High School vs Carlisle at 2:30 pm.
