GHS Leadership Students, with support from Ms. Jarzab and Ms. Strothman, presented to multiple classes to raise awareness regarding human trafficking. "Our goal was to educate our school and community about the signs of human trafficking and how traffickers use social media and technology to target their victims. Ohio is a major hotspot for this issue. Before our presentation, only 63% of students knew about human trafficking, but after, that number jumped to over 93%! We reached over 100 students and made a real impact." said Savannah Artis, a senior at GHS. To take their advocacy even further, they held a bake sale to raise donations for Safe Harbor, a nonprofit organization that helps victims. January is Human Trafficking Awareness Month and is included in required Ohio School Safety and Violence Prevention. Attention - Graduates and Parents of the Class of 2024! The FAFSA form is FREE, but it can save you thousands of dollars for college or career tech. FAFSA is not just about college. A majority of students at Ohio technical schools in programs such as welding, public safety, and construction also typically qualify for Pell funding to provide debt-free support for their education. Students who do not complete the FAFSA are potentially giving up to $10,000 per year in federal and state grants.
