The Skilled Trades Ninja Competition is new to our county this year. The goal of the practice and competition is to expose students to various skilled trades techniques. Each student in grade 8 has completed at least two rounds of practice on the following skills:
-Drill/Driver
-Electrical Wiring
-Plumbing
-Tape Measure
-Welding gloves
-Nuts and Bolts
-Hammering
The top 6 GMS students competed in the Regional Competition at Ohio Hi-Point on February 9th. They were CJ Setty, Travis Beedy, Braxton Gantt, Dylan Landis, Wes Bailey, and Cross Lykins.
The Graham Middle School Team swept the podium at the first ever Skilled Trades Ninja Madness Regional hosted at Ohio Hi-Point! This competition hosted the top 30 student qualifiers representing all five county schools. Six grade 8 students represented Graham: CJ Setty, Travis Beedy, Braxton Gantt, Dylan Landis, Wes Bailey, and Cross Lykins. Wes came out on top as the overall champion, CJ took second, and Dylan came in 3rd. Also making the final eight was Cross.
