
Third graders did a STEM activity that went along with the book Where the Wild Things Are. After constructing their boats, they measured how far they could travel on water. Students then had to reflect on what went well and what could be improved upon with their design.



Many students are given the opportunity to learn where they are most comfortable when working. Our children take advantage of working in various spots around the classroom just like these 2nd grade kids.




Scooter Board and Hockey looks like fun for our 5th graders in P.E. classes!

CLUB HIGHLIGHTS: Card Games, Karaoke, and Board Games are just 3 out of the 43 clubs that children can choose to participate in during Club Day. Our staff members offer a club based on staff and student interests. We will continue to highlight our clubs in future posts.





Last Friday was one of our theme days, and we celebrated National DJ Day with music being played at lunch. We also shared some musical information about our teachers with the students. You could see kids grooving and dancing in their seats!




First graders made New Year's Resolutions for themselves to begin 2023. They have made some great ones, and are likely working hard to follow through with them as we come to the end of January soon.




Our Kindergarten students love having their special Middle School students around to help them out with skills. What a great way to promote students helping students as role models and mentors in and around the classrooms!





Our students have a hand in decorating our hallways with positive messages. Students in our School Beautification Club have made the school come alive with signs created to promote kindness and spirit.





Numerous teachers participated in the January Staff Challenge Friday morning. The challenge this month was a Puzzle Challenge. Teachers like to have fun together at school!
Thank you to Little Bird Cafe for providing us with some tasty cinnamon rolls to enjoy!





Graham Elementary Staff enjoyed some POPCORN TREATS as a token of appreciation from our principals! Mrs. Dickerson even wore a special shirt to add some humor to the day.





Our preschool children have some of their work hanging up with their thoughts on why the snowman melted in the picture. With the help of their teacher and instructional aides, students learn that their words can be put into written form.





Way to go!! Congrats to these two awesome teachers!!


Our Kindergarten students are loving the new playground equipment installed over the summer! A brain break is always a fun part of their day.




Preparation has begun for the next elementary musical, and try outs for specific parts take place this week. The 4th and 5th grade student interest is tremendous with over 120 students wishing to participate! We look forward to seeing the final production in April.


DJ Day will be this coming Friday, January 20th at Graham Elementary. The students will enjoy some tunes being played during their lunch period. We will also be sharing some information about which songs, artists and styles of music are the favorites of our teachers!


GES staff members Lisa Dickerson and Nicki Stevens participated in the Special Olympics celebrity basketball game today in Champaign County (Bailey Mangus and Logan Hurst from GES were in the game).
