Due to multiple factors, the recycling center at GMS will cease operations immediately. Over the last six years, we have been able to operate this center thanks to volunteers, mainly from our GMS staff. The company asked that we keep it locked and monitor the use so correct items are entered into the bins. We have tried to leave it unlocked in the event of no volunteer availability, however inevitably someone chooses to put in restricted items which presents issues. We have also on several occasions had others volunteer, outside of our staff, that have been unreliable, leaving our patrons frustrated with the school when we are simply trying to provide a service to our community. We appreciate those that choose to recycle and hope you can bring your items to surrounding communities that have these opportunities. Some we are aware of are located in West Liberty, Quincy, Urbana, Springfield, and the truck that visits St. Paris.
Graham Middle School will have a co-ed soccer team in the fall of 2025. If you have an incoming 7th or 8th grader interested in playing soccer, there will be an open field on Saturday, July 12th at the middle school football/soccer field from 9:00-10:30 AM.
Middle School soccer practices will officially start Monday, July 14th. Practices will be every Monday & Wednesday from 5:00-6:30 at the Graham middle school field.
Games will start at the end of August and will continue through early October. GMS will travel to West Liberty, Bellefontaine, Calgary Christian, Ben Logan & Fairlawn in addition to hosting some home games at Graham.
Additional information will be shared including ordering of jerseys and game schedules soon. If your child is interested in playing, please have them attend the open field this Saturday or contact Brevin Harlow at (937) 417-1815 or Josh Johnston at (937) 216-0430.

The recycling center at GMS will be CLOSED on Saturday, 7/5. The company was unable to dump the bin and for those here two weeks ago, you will remember it is packed full.
Also, the yellow/green paper bin has been full since April and the company (separate from large bin) cant keep a driver consistently. Unknown when it will be dumped again.

Summer Workouts for Sports Teams!!!
Girls Basketball: Every Tuesday and Thursday from 12:00pm-1:00pm at Graham High School.
Boys Basketball: Mon/Tues/Thurs shooting and lifting 9am-11am at Graham High School. Summer League is Wednesdays from 5:00-8:00pm at Urbana.
GMS Football: July: 15, 16, 17, 22, 23, 24, 29, 30, 31. All workouts will be from 6:00-7:30 at Graham High School.
Middle School Summer Golf Opportunity:
Practices 5pm-7pm Sundays starting June 15th at the Lakeland driving range. Play 9 holes Tuesdays at 5:30pm each Tuesday starting June 17th.

Final Grade Cards and Summer Office Availability
Graham Middle School will be open for final grade card pickup the following days:
Tuesday, June 3rd from 9am-11am
Wednesday, June 4th from 9am-2pm
Thursday, June 6th from 9am-2pm
After those dates, we will process a mailing of any remaining grade cards, Ohio State Test Scores, or IEP progress reports.
After Thursday, the GMS office will be "closed" for the summer. Principals can still be available via appointment as we work through June. If you need to meet with a Principal, please contact them directly.

Tuesday (6/3) 9am-11am (We are headed to cheer on the baseball team in the regional game, thus closing early)

GMS grade 8 students participated in the Real Money, Real World simulations recently in partnership with @grownextgen . Students not only went through financial literacy programming, but also had stations with Soy Ambassadors, @BecksHybrids , and fun cost analysis activities with staff.

This email was sent today to all Color Blast registrations received to date. Sharing here as well since we had quite a few emails kicked back due to registration errors when entered.
Tomorrow is the GMS Color Blast! Thank you for pre-registering for the event. Currently we have over 165 participants pre-registered. This is going to be a great event and we are so excited you are willing to show up for our kiddos, raising funds for student organizations here at GMS.
Please do not arrive prior to 9am, as it will allow our vendors and registration table to get all settled for the event. Please refer to the map for parking options. The Start/Finish line and vendors will all be in the main GMS parking lot.
Please come to the Registration table when you arrive, sometime before 10am. Here you will line up based on if you purchased a shirt or not and we will check you in and give out your race goodies. We will have extra shirts and color packs for sale after we have accounted for everyone. We can take cash or check for those.
Unfortunately, due to the expected cooler weather, we will likely not hold the pre-race water balloon fight.
Pre-race and post race, enjoy the outdoor games and vendors who have come to share their products with you. There are not a lot this first year, but they will be here to sell.
The tye dye station will be set up at 9:30am and will be available post race as well for those who want to wear their shirt while they run.
Both the 1 mile fun run and 5k will begin at 10am this year.

GMS End of Year Awards Adjustment - 8th Grade Promotion is scheduled for Thursday at 7:00. Also, as a courtesy to families that may have travel and summer plans starting with the Memorial Day weekend, we are adjusting our grade 6 and 7 awards to this Friday. Grade 6 at 8:00am, and grade 7 at 8:30.
We are one week away!!!! So far we have 132 pre-registrations received which is our largest pre-registration ever for the Falcon 5K / Color Blast event. You wont want to miss it!
The Graham Color Blast 1-mile and 5K run/walk will take place on May 24th. The Color Blast will be similar to a "Color Run" that many have seen happening in communities, just not here in St. Paris, YET!
Our goal is to create a fun community event that can also raise funds to cover student organization membership and event costs. Each year, GMS spends thousands of dollars from the Principal's Fund for students to be part of organizations and the several that have corresponding competitions. This event is to prevent students from having to pay those themselves. We want students to have as many opportunities as possible!
We hope you can join us as a participant in the run/walk event, or even as a spectator that will take in the event, cheer on others, maybe toss some color powder, or take in the vendors that will be on campus.
