Check out these MONSTERS!!! 8th graders in Art collaborated with 1st graders on the project. 1st graders drew their monsters, and 8th graders built them out of clay! Photos share them bringing their final product over for kids to take home.
Grade 8 science rocket launching day!!! Which variable will matter? Shape of fins, angles of fins, amount of fuel, nose cones, and more... Students also had to usitlize the design process, colaborate in groups, and budget their build.
GMS wants to wish Lydia Dibert the best of luck as she heads to Orlando this week for the National Finals of the National History Bee. In this photo she is being presented with a $600 scholarship from the GLS OAPSE Union to assist with trip expenses!
The GMS Falcon 5k and Elementary Fun Run is coming up! Saturday, 5/25, come out and enjoy a walk or run while supporting GMS student organizations and our PBIS initiatives. The check-in/registration table opens at 8:00am. Fun run begins at 8:45am and the 5k starts at 9:00am. We have a limited amount of shirts available for those registering the day of the event. Start/Finish location is GYAA Ballpark.
Kona Ice is back at GMS tomorrow!
GMS students Connor Jackson and Eli Woodward-Roeth competed in the Regional Special Olympics Powerlifting Meet in Cincinnati. They both qualified to go to the Special Olympics Summer Games at The Ohio State University in bench press and dead lift!
On Friday, GMS grade 8 students participated in the Real Money, Real World simulation. The main goal is providing experiences in financial literacy and as we call it "adulting." There were various other stations as well that provided valuable experiences and fun. Thanks to Grow Next Gen, Becks Hybrids, and the 4H extension office for their partnerships in the project. Shout-out to our 8th grade teachers, HS and college student volunteers as well for making today happen!
The GMS Power of the Pen team is at Ashland University for the State Competition!
Thanks to the St. Paris Library and Miss Lisa, our GMS students had the opportunity to take home FREE books to read this summer! Over 300 books were taken home today!

GMS 6th/7th Softball are Milton Union Tournament CHAMPIONS!
Congratulations to the following Graham Middle School group projects that received a Superior Rating at the State Science Fair this year: Alice Rogers with Adelyn Guidera (Can Different Liquids Change a Plant's Height) and Jenna Johnston with Carly Birchfield (STOP... Don't Eat That 5-Second Rule). These students will have the opportunity to participate in The State Science Day Celebration of Science where they can choose to present their work during a Showcase of Posters, participate in an awards ceremony and take tours that feature interactive experiences across Ohio State’s research enterprise.

Outstanding 8th grade Art I student Adelaide Shearer completed a mural project in the GMS cafeteria. Out of a request from the cafeteria staff, and a successful doodle project Adelaide made in 7th grade art, the idea was generated. A mock drawing was made and then modified to fit the wall space. The mural was drawn with charcoal and then finalized with a vibrant fine art graffiti marker. Thank you Adelaide!

Also winning awards for their art were Bella Brown (honorable mention - drawing), Sophia Mangus (2nd place - Mixed Media), Adelaide Shearer (3rd place - sculpture), Jacob Pelfrey (2nd place - sculpture), and Elec Fryman (1st place - sculpture).
