Mrs. Smith has shared information with 8th grade students about this amazing opportunity to secure future stability.
Clark State Scholarship opportunity for current 8th graders!
-FREE Tuition for up to 3 years if selected
-Eligible applicants include anyone who qualifies for free or reduced lunch, neither parent has a college degree associates or higher
-MUST have at least a 2.75 GPA
Applications and reference letters are due January 17, 2025 to Mrs. Smith

Over the holiday break, thanks to high school student volunteers, the Recycling Center at Graham Middle School will be open today and Saturday, January 4th from 10am to Noon. We always plan to be open the first and third Saturdays of the month.
Reminder - we can only accept #1/#2 plastic (no other plastic), glass, aluminum, steel cans, and cardboard.

Very successful 1st annual NJHS Door Decorating Contest for a Cause! Designs by intervention groups and they raised $220 to team up with our Student Council Angel Tree giving project. Congratulations to the winners, Mrs. Rice and Mrs. Herrera who earned the trophy!

National Junior Honor Society Induction Held 12/10
Congratulations to the 2024-2025 Graham Middle School National Junior Honor Society inductees!
New members: Brynne Edwards, Mallorie Erter, Elizabeth Friis, Noah George, Adelyn Guidera, Jenna Johnston, Lily Parke, Fynn Putnam, Alice Rogers, and Morgan Vulgamore.
These students were selected based on their applications and faculty input in the areas of demonstrated scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship.
These new members will join our returning members: Alexia Martinez, Avah McLean, Kendall Nichols, Daniel Spence, Reagan Stillings, Isabel Tucker, Ava Tudor, Julia Wagner, and Jayna Weinert
Thank you also to our NJHS Advisers Mrs. Obaugh and Mrs. Wilson for the opportunity they provide these students.

Every year on the DC trip, our tour guides from K&K Tours bestow upon two students (one from each bus) a flag that has been flown over the US Capitol Building in honor of Graham Middle School. Congratulations to Briar and Carper.

DC Trip - The final day of the trip brought us to tour the Gettysburg National Battlefield and Cyclorama. #GMS2DC2024
DC Trip - On day 4 we visited the MLK Jr., FDR, and Jefferson Memorials. The group toured Ford's Theater as well. We then took a trip to the Marine Corps Museum and Mount Vernon. #GMS2DC2024
DC Trip - We had a big day today in DC. The morning began at the Marine Corps Memorial then Arlington National Cemetery. Afterwards we visited the Lincoln, Korean, Vietnam, and WWll Memorial. We finished with the Holocaust Museum and the Pentagon 9/11 Memorial. #GMS2DC2024

DC Trip- Today we visit the Eisenhower Memorial, US Capitol Building, National Archives and National Mall Museums, Washington National Cathedral, Air Force Memorial and ended our evening with colonial tours in Alexandria. #GMS2DC2024

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT!!!
8th graders will be leaving next week for Washington D.C. While there, they will be touring Arlington National Cemetery. Four 8th graders will have the opportunity to participate in the Laying of the Wreath Ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Students wrote an essay explaining why they would like to take part in this prestigious ceremony. Based on their essay, four students were chosen by a team of staff members. The winners are Casey Britton, Easton Kermode, Ava Tudor, and Daniel Spence. Congratulations on earning this tremendous honor to represent yourself, your school, your families and your community!
