Mrs. Fasse’s 2nd grade class celebrated Valentine’s Day with some sweet chocolate treats 🍫 while they learned some great life lessons that helped Milton Hershey become a very successful man. After reading the book 📖 “On the Corner of Chocolate Avenue” (a biography), they learned that Milton Hershey: *persevered when he experienced failure (which happened often early on in his career) *always worked hard *never gave up on his dream *eventually became rich💰and shared his wealth with his employees and his community, so it would be a better place for everyone . This true story helped the students remember that they should never give up in life, no matter how many times they may fail at something. It’s more important that we all learn from our failures and keep working hard until we succeed and reach our goal(s). Mrs. Fasse’s class will continue their study of Milton Hershey’s life by using their map 🗺 skills and locating the states where Milton lived during his lifetime, as well as the countries he shipped his delicious chocolates 🍫 to when they first became very popular. The students will also locate the parts of the world 🌎 where cocoa beans grow, and learn the processes used to turn cocoa beans into the yummy 😋 chocolates we enjoy eating today.
