Happy Mole Day! Mole Day is celebrated annually on October 23rd from 6:02am to 6:02 pm. Mole day commemorates Avogadro's Number, THE MOLE (abbreviated mol), a basic measuring unit in Chemistry. Just like a dozen equals 12 items, 1 mole equals 6.02x10^23 particles (which could be atoms, ions, molecules, etc.)!
Mrs. Huff's Honors Chemistry II class celebrated Mole Day by making Moledae Ice Cream, while calculating the number of moles within each measured ingredient. Students also brought in Mole Day treats like Mol-ten Lava Cupcakes, Choc-mol-ate popcorn and Cinnamon Mols.
